Bilateral relations
- 06–08.05.2013: official visit of Prime Minister Andrus Ansip to Tajikistan. The Prime Minister was accompanied by a business delegation, and the business forum held in Dushanbe was opened by the Prime Ministers of Estonia and Tajikistan.
- 11–13.01.2012: official visit of Foreign Minister Urmas Paet to Tajikistan.
- 13.02.2009: visit of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to Estonia.
Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Estonia and Tajikistan took place in Dushanbe in 2019.

The Embassy of Estonia traditionally participates in the Europe Day events organised by the EU Delegation every May.
Estonia has supported projects in Tajikistan in the fields of water management, natural products and ecotourism, women’s entrepreneurship, civil society, democratic values, human rights, equal treatment, and rural tourism.
Estonia has also enabled Tajik diplomats to study at the Estonian School of Diplomacy and organised study visits for Tajik diplomats.
There are opportunities for cooperation in IT and e-governance, areas in which Tajik authorities have shown strong interest. Estonian representatives have also participated in OSCE election observation missions.
According to the census, around 30 people of Tajik ethnicity live in Estonia.
The Estonia, University of Tartu 350 and J. F. Parrot peaks in the Pamirs in Tajikistan were first climbed by Estonians.
