The President of the United States of America Barack Obama will arrive for a visit to Estonia on September 3rd.
The U.S. President will meet with President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Estonia's Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas and members of the Estonian government.
President Obama will also meet in Tallinn with President Ilves, Latvian President Andris Bērziņš and Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė.
After his visit to Estonia, the U.S. President will head to Wales, where he will attend the NATO summit.
The visit of the President of the United States confirms the long-term and close relationship between the United States and Estonia and recognizes Estonia’s work in attaining common goals. At the meetings, security issues of relevance to the United States and Europe will be discussed in light of the upcoming NATO summit.
The United States and Estonia are steadfast allies in transatlantic far-reaching cooperation. Our bilateral relations are strong, as proven by the dialogue between countries on matters important to both Estonia and the United States. In addition to political dialogue, relations between Estonia and the United States are characterised by effective cooperation in the sphere of defence. In recent years, practical cooperation has intensified in the area of cyber defence and in the advancement of democracy.
