Updated travel advice on Ukraine and Russia

Due to the increased security threat in Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly recommends avoiding travel to Ukraine and suggests Estonian citizens look for ways to leave the country. The situation in Ukraine may change quickly and, as tensions increase, the ability of the Estonian Embassy to help citizens may be disrupted.


In view of the tensions in the Ukraine-Russia border regions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is also updating its advice regarding travel to Russia and recommends avoiding travel to the Russian regions bordering Ukraine.

We urge all Estonian nationals in Ukraine and Russia to register their stay at the Reisi Targalt website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
