Today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned a representative of the Russian Embassy and issued a protest on the planned fireworks display in Moscow on 22 September.
According to Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu, the announcement on the planned fireworks in the Russian Federation on the 75th anniversary of the reoccupation of Tallinn is a provocative step. "The reoccupation of Tallinn did not bring freedom to Estonia; instead it brought the Soviet occupation, which lasted half a century. The legal continuity of the Republic of Estonia is and continues to be the foundation of our statehood," Reinsalu emphasised.
