“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been working around the clock to ensure that Estonian citizens can return home from the Middle East region. As of this morning, we have found a partner with whom we can organise the first special flight to bring Estonian citizens home,” Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said.
People who have registered on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Reisi Targalt website and indicated Oman or the United Arab Emirates as their location will receive additional information about the journey by email. The cost of the flight is €450 per person, which includes the plane ticket and transfer fee. The remaining cost of the special flight will be covered by the state.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official partner for organizing the special flight is Novatours, which also handles ticket sales for the flight. Each passenger will receive a personal booking link from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. All ticket reservations can only be made through the link provided by the ministry. Bus transfers are also planned to take Estonian citizens to Muscat Airport. Only passengers who have purchased a ticket for the special flight will be able to reserve a seat on the bus.
“There are 180 seats on the first special flight, but preparations are already under way for the next flight. Further information will be sent to people by email and SMS notification as soon as possible.” We ask those who are unable to obtain a ticket for the first special flight not to travel to Muscat independently without a confirmed flight ticket. The timing and location of the next special flight will depend on the security situation in each country. “We are doing everything possible to ensure that people can return home from the region as quickly as possible,” Tsahkna said.
