“The newest sanctions package of the European Union once again makes it more difficult for Russia to earn the means needed for funding its aggression against Ukraine and access the raw materials essential for its war industry,” Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said.
At the same time, he underlined that as Russia continues its war of aggression against Ukraine, we must continue imposing sanctions against Russia. “Estonia and the European Union are working to make sure the Russian war machine is stopped, Ukraine wins the war and Russia answers for the atrocities it has committed,” the minister said.
Since Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine, the European Union has continued to impose stricter sanctions against Russia. Fourteen sanctions packages have been imposed so far, aimed at raising the cost of the aggression for Russia and, with other foreign policy measures, pressure Russia into ending its aggression in Ukraine.
All sanctions will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
