Estonian Ambassador to Iran Annely Kolk presents her credentials

Yesterday 25 April, Estonian Ambassador Annely Kolk presented her credentials to Ebrahim Raisi, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a conversation following the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Kolk and President Raisi spoke about the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Estonia and Iran, celebrated on 18 August. They also discussed developing bilateral cooperation. “I can see potential for development in the cooperation between Estonia and Iran, especially in culture and economy,” Kolk said.

Ambassador Annely Kolk has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1999 when she joined the Legal Department. Between 2007 and 2010, she was a diplomat for policy issues at Estonia’s mission to the UN and other international organisations in Geneva. After her return from Geneva, Annely Kolk joined the legal department again and from 2014 to the autumn of 2019, she was the Foreign Ministry’s undersecretary for legal and consular affairs. Annely Kolk speaks English, Russian, Finnish, German and French.

The ambassador resides in Ankara, Turkey. In addition to Turkey, the embassy also represents Estonia in Azerbaijan.
