14/08 Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu meets with U.S. Senator Ron Wyden. The agenda includes the bilateral relations and cooperation of Estonia and the United States, the upcoming meeting of NATO leaders and the rise of populism in Europe. The Senator is in Estonia from 14 to 16 August. Additional information: press@mfa.ee

This year’s greatest festival of performing arts, the Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland, features many projects involving Estonian artists:

07-24/08 Performances of the Straight Outta Estonia show by Comedy Estonia

15-17/08 The Nuku Choir performs the show Kalevipoeg, based on the Estonian national epic, and combining runo song with jazz

18/08 The Nuku Choir also performs at the St Andrew’s Cathedral in Aberdeen. The programme includes works by Pärt Uusberg, Eino Tamberg, Siim Aimla, Veljo Tormis and others. Reeda Toots and Saale Kreen conduct. The event is organised by the Estonian Embassy in London and the Estonian Honorary Consul in Aberdeen.
