The movement restrictions in effect in many European Union or Schengen Member States until now will change today, on 15 June.

As of today, Estonian citizens can again travel freely to Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Germany and France.

As of tomorrow, 16 June, Estonian citizens will be able to also travel to Austria without restrictions. You have to stay in quarantine at the destination if you travel to the United Kingdom or Ireland. On certain conditions, e.g. by submitting a medical certificate or when travelling with a good reason, it is also possible to travel to Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Czech Republic, Hungary, Iceland, Cyprus and Romania.

Entry restrictions still apply to travelling to third countries and entry restrictions will also apply to people travelling to Estonia from outside the European Union until at least 30 June.

According to Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu, the general international travel warning related to the continuing spread of the coronavirus still applies and people should avoid travelling abroad unless they absolutely have to. “You should definitely follow the instructions of the local authorities when abroad to ensure that you don’t breach the terms of your visa or any other conditions for being in the country in question,” said Reinsalu.

Further information on the entry conditions of various countries can be found on the Reisi Targalt (Travel Smartly) website at https://reisitargalt.vm.ee/.
