Reinsalu extended condolences to his Russian counterpart on the plane crash at Sherementyevo airport

Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu extended his condolences to his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov following a crash at Moscow’s Sherementyovo airport where a plane caught fire after a crash landing.

“I would like to extend my condolences on behalf of the Estonian government and people to the families and relatives of the victims of this terrible tragedy,” Reinsalu wrote in a letter to his colleague. “I wish for a speedy recovery for the injured.”

According to initial reports, 41 people were killed in the crash.
