14. June 2019 - 6:36

Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu is on a visit in Lithuania on 14 June, and he will meet with his Lithuanian counterpart Linas Linkevičius.

The foreign ministers will discuss the relations of Estonia and Lithuania, regional projects, and the security situation. They will also cover topical European Union issues, including the future and the enlargement of the EU, and issues related to Russia and the Eastern Partnership.

“Lithuania is a close neighbour and important partner for Estonia; our relations are good and we share common objectives in foreign policy. An important component of that is the security of the region,” Foreign Minister Reinsalu said, highlighting the fact that Baltic defence cooperation is better than ever before.

The Foreign Minister also plans to lay a wreath on the monument for the victims of the Soviet occupation, and visit the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights.
