Foreign Minister Sven Mikser begins his visit in the United States

Estonian Foreign Minister Sven Mikser is on a visit to the United States.

On Wednesday 6 February, the Foreign Minister will attend the meeting of foreign ministers of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, where the agenda includes the state of play in anti-terrorist operations in Syria and Iraq, the next steps of the Coalition, and its transition from military operations to stabilising measures, such as obstructing the funding of terrorism and fighting radicalisation.

On Thursday 7 February, Mikser, alongside his Latvian and Lithuanian counterparts, will meet with James Risch, the Chairman of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, and Bob Menendez, the Ranking Member of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. On the same day, the Baltic foreign ministers will also meet with Adam Schiff, the Chairman of the US House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. The minister will also take part in discussions at the Heritage Foundation think tank.
