Today 11 October, Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu will meet with the French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian in Paris.
The meeting will mostly focus on Russia, Ukraine and European security. The agenda also includes the bilateral relations of Estonia and France, including defence cooperation in Mali, as well as the current affairs of the European Union, and the situation in Syria.
“Our relations with France are excellent, especially in the area of defence cooperation, and cyber and digital issues. I definitely wish to discuss ways of further enhancing this cooperation,” the Foreign Minister said before the meeting.
“We will discuss issues related to the security of Europe and the situation in Ukraine. Europe is facing great challenges and we can only meet them together.”
The Foreign Minister will also meet with Laure de La Raudière, the President of the France-Estonia friendship group at the National Assembly.
