Foreign Minister Pentus-Rosimannus: The agreement signed in Moscow today confirms Russia's aggressive attitude and desire to annex South Ossetia

18. March 2015 - 16:54

Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus says Estonia condemns the signing of the so-called “Treaty on Alliance and Integration” between Russia and the de facto authorities of South Ossetia in Moscow today.

The Foreign Minister said that this is yet another step, which violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. “The signed agreement is a violation of international law and the obligations assumed by Russia. The signing of this agreement damages the Geneva negotiations process and thus threatens the security and stability of the entire region,” Foreign Minister Pentus-Rosimannus stressed.

According to Pentus-Rosimannus, the signing of the given agreement confirms Russia's aggressive attitude and desire to annex South Ossetia.
