Foreign Minister Mikser offers condolences to families of Indonesia tsunami victims

Foreign Minister Sven Mikser has offered condolences to his Indonesian colleague H.E. Ms Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi following a deadly tsunami that hit the coastline of the Sunda Strait.

„My thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims and everyone affected by this natural disaster, and I wish for a speedy recovery of those injured. On behalf of the Estonian Government and people, allow me to express deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the people of Indonesia,“ said Mikser.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia asks Estonian citizens currently in Indonesia to follow the orders of local authorities and contact their families in Estonia. At least 168 people have been killed and hundreds injured after a tsunami hit coastal towns on Indonesia's Sunda Strait. Rescue efforts continue.
