Today, Foreign Minister Sven Mikser met Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani, with discussions mainly centering on Macedonia’s aspirations to join the EU.

“Estonia supports EU enlargement and we expect the EU to start accession negotiations with Macedonia,” Mikser emphasised. “We are glad that Macedonia’s government has decided to continue reforms that have been stalled in the meantime,” he said.

Foreign Minister confirmed that Estonia supports Macedonia’s efforts to join NATO "in every way" and is ready to share its experience if necessary. “We commend Macedonia for plans already implemented in support of the country’s Euro-Atlantic integration,” Mikser said.

Discussing Estonia-Macedonia relations, Mikser pointed up cooperation in the ICT field. “There are many opportunities for cooperation in the digital field and Estonia could share more of its experience through different cooperation project,” Mikser said.

On 31 October, Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov also visited Estonia.
