Estonian Foreign Minister Sven Mikser and a member of the US Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Elizabeth Warren, discussed cyber and defence cooperation and EU-US trade relations in Tallinn today.

Mikser and Warren affirmed the good and close relations between Estonia and the US, and emphasised the importance of cooperation in the cyber field. “Cyber defence has become an increasingly important part of security and therefore, cooperation in the field is all the more important,” Mikser said. Senator Warren recognised Estonia’s achievements and leading role on cyber topics.

Mikser and Warren also discussed EU-US relations, including transatlantic trade, and agreed that it is important to move forward with a free trade agreement. “Everyone gains from closer trade relations, so we hope the negotiations continue,” said Mikser.
