Foreign Minister to meet NATO Secretary General today

Today, Foreign Minister Sven Mikser will meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels.


The meeting will focus on next steps to be taken to strengthen NATO’s deterrence and defence posture as well as the implementation of decisions from the Brussels Summit in July. Mikser and Stoltenberg will also discuss cooperation between the EU and NATO as well as relations with Russia.

In addition to the meeting with Secretary General Stoltenberg, Foreign Minister Mikser will formally open Estonia’s new Permanent Representation to NATO in the new NATO headquarters. All 30 staff members of the Estonian representation have moved to the new building. Since July, all NATO’s international civilian and military staff and representations of 29 countries are located under one roof at the new headquarters.
