Estonia condemns the terrorist attack in Tunisia

Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus said Estonia condemns the terrorist attack that took place in the Tunisian capital of Tunis yesterday, claiming the lives of 19 people, 17 of whom were tourists. Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus expresses her deepest condolences to all those close to the people who lost their lives.

The Foreign Minister said that Estonia condemns all manifestations of terrorism which endanger international peace and stability. “It is important that the international community stands firmly in the name of common values and cooperates effectively to prevent the spread of terrorism,” the Foreign Minister said. “Estonia expresses its solidarity with the Tunisian government in the fight against terrorism,” Pentus-Rosimannus said.

Yesterday, on March 18, 19 people, including 17 tourists were killed following a shooting in the Bardo Museum in the Tunisian capital of Tunis. Among the casualties were numerous citizens of the European Union. Several dozen people were injured.
