Malaysia

The Federation of Malaysia recognised the independence of Estonia on 11 September 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two nations were established on 4 November 1993.

Estonia is covered by Malaysia’s embassy in Helsinki. The Ambassador of Malaysia to Estonia Cheah Choong Kit presented his credentials to President T. H. Ilves on 29 June, 2011.

On 2 July, 2013, the Ambassador of Estonia to Malaysia Andres Unga presented his credentials to King Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah. The Estonian ambassador resides in Tallinn. Since 21 December, 2011, Estonia is represented in Malaysia by Honorary Consul (Colonel) Dato’ Harbans Singh.
