The Republic of Honduras recognised Estonia when Estonia joined the League of Nations on 22 September 1921.
In addition, Honduras is among the countries that never recognised the Soviet occupation in the Baltic States.
Honduras has not recognised Estonia’s independence in separate acts, but belongs to the United Nations along with Estonia.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Honduras and the Republic of Estonia were established on 5 February 2003.
The ambassador of the Republic of Honduras Mr Roberto Flores Bermúdez presented his credentials to the President of the Republic on 30 January 2013. The embassy of the Republic of Honduras is located in Brussels.
The honorary consul of the Republic of Estonia in San Pedro Sula is Mr Humberto Eugenio Salgado Pellman.
Honduras does not have an honorary consul in Estonia.
No reciprocal visits have yet taken place between Honduras and Estonia, and no bilateral agreements have been concluded.
Estonian citizens may stay in Honduras visa-free for up to 90 days within six months.
