Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid

The Republic of Estonia has been officially engaged in developing cooperation as part of its foreign policy sector since 1998 when, for the first time, money from the government's funds was allocated for developing cooperation. The general goal of Estonian development cooperation is to contribute to the eradication of world poverty and to attaining the Millennium Development Goals.
The goals of humanitarian aid provided by Estonia are to save human lives and deliver assistance to victims of natural or manmade disasters, focusing particularly on the most vulnerable population groups.
