Estonian Ambassador to Greece presents his Letter of Credence
Yesterday, the Estonian Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, Priit Pallum, presented his credentials to President Prokopis Pavlopoulos. The ambassador resides in Athens.
In a discussion following the ceremony, Ambassador Pallum affirmed the good relations between the two countries and added that cooperation between Estonia and Greece, as cooperation between countries situated in the opposite corners of Europe, is very important.
Ambassador Pallum also passed personal regards to the President of Greece from President Kersti Kaljulaid.
Ambassador Priit Pallum was born in 1964 in Tallinn. In 1989 he graduated from the University of Tartu School of Economics. Pallum has worked in Estonia’s foreign service since 1991 when he took up a position in the department of external economic affairs of the foreign ministry. From 1998-1999, Pallum worked as Estonia’s Ambassador to the UN and other international organisations, including the World Trade Organisation, in Geneva. From 2000 onwards, Pallum worked as the deputy secretary general of external economic and consular affairs. Afterwards, from 2002-2006, he was Estonia’s ambassador to the Netherlands and from 2007-2010, director general of the external economic and development cooperation department of the foreign ministry. From 2010-2014, Priit Pallum was Estonia’s ambassador to Hungary, Croatia and Slovenia and before going to Greece, Pallum was the director of the division of trade policy and multilateral trade organisations.
